ARF Jerusalem Celebrates the 115th Anniversary of the
Establishment of ARF
On Friday, the 27th of January 2006, the
ARF Jerusalem Committee has celebrated the 115th anniversary of the
party's establishment at Homenetmen Jerusalem's main hall, which took
place under the auspices of the Armenian Patriarchate's Foreign Affairs
representative Bishop Aris Shirvanian and His Excellency Tsolag Momjian
the Honorary Consul of Armenia and with the presence of representatives
of the community's various organizations and more than 80 attendees.
The event was opened by Armenia's
National Anthem played by Homenetmen's Trumpet Troop. The opening speech
was delivered by Eng. Serop Sahagian who was also the master of
ceremonies. During the event, yeghp. Hrayr Yezegelian and yeghp. Apo
Sahagian preformed with three songs ("Arazi Apin", "Karekin Njtehin" and
"Lerner hayreni"). Ashod Sahagian a traditional 'duduk' player performed
with two songs. Eng. Hagop Sevan delivered ARF-Jerusalem's message. The
event's main speech was made by Eng. Levon Shirinian, member of
Armenia's Reporters' Union. The event came to its close with the
reciting of Agnuni's still relevant monologue "Tebi Yergir" by
Yeghp. Harout Baghamian, which was
followed by the closing words of Bishop Shirvanian, who brought his
appreciation for ARF's great role in the nation's history for a period
of more than a century.
The event was closed by a reception.
