ARS Jerusalem Marks the 75th Anniversary of its
Establishment
On Friday, the 26th of October
2007, more than 120 people were present at the Homenetmen center's main
hall to attend the event marking ARS Jerusalem's 75th anniversary.
The event that lasted for an hour
and a half, was presided by His Eminency Arch. Nourhan Manoukian.
The event, mastered by Eng.
Arshalouys Baghamian, started with a moment of silence for the memory of
newly passed away, longtime ARF and Homenetmen active member, Eng.
Sarkiss Yacoubian and for the souls of the diseased members followed by
the chanting of Mer Hayrenik by the members of the choir. The opening
words were uttered by Eng. Noem Nalbandian, the chairwoman of ARS
Jerusalem, who also read the congratulatory letter sent by the Executive
Committee of ARS. A. Isahakian's "Ani" was then recited by Harout
Baghamian followed by 2 songs presented by the choir namely "Yergir
Hayreni" and "Yes Im Anoush Hayasdani" accompanied by George Sandrouni
on the piano. Eng. Hagop Sevan then delivered ARF's speech which
was followed by a 10 minutes film documenting ARS Jerusalem's history in
pictures. The documentary was prepared by Harout Baghamian and Ruppen
Nalbandian. Then it was Yeghp. Serop Sahagian's, the chairman of
Homenetmen Jerusalem's turn to give his speech. "Dzidernag" was the name
of the song that was presented next by Arpi Krikorian accompanied by
Hasmig Kalaydjian on the kanon. Next, Eng. Hayganush Nalbandian, member
of ARS for over 50 years, was invited to cut the event cake followed by
the lighting of 75 candles resembling the 75 years of the organization.
The event came to its close with the
closing words of Arch. Manougian and his blessings followed by the
chanting of ARS's hymn.
The event ended with a cocktail.
